This book is another one of Greg and the Heffleys' wimpy adventures. Basically, the Heffleys are stuck in Greg's grandma's basement because their house got destroyed when they tried to move (long story). Then, they find Uncle Gary's camper van which he used to live in for two years. After that, they have to clean it out because apparently, Uncle Gary hoarded his trash in his camper so nobody would steal it. When they finish cleaning the camper out, they decide to go on a vacation and hit the road. The Heffleys went to a camping site, and of course they got kicked out on their first night in an incident involving a bear and 3-year-old Manny almost causing a forest fire. Since the actual wilderness didn't work out, they decided to try something a little more upscale. They went to a place called “Camper's Paradise” which at first, didn't really live up to its name. This was for many reasons. The lake was polluted, every inch of the pool was too crowded, there was a storm that broke the bridge so the supply truck couldn't refill the camp store, and a skunk somehow got into the Hefflleys' camper and sprayed them all. When the bridge was fixed, everyone left as fast as possible, and then the Heffleys actually enjoyed their vacation. So, I guess all they needed to have a good vacation was to be by themselves. All in all, a great read for anybody looking for a funny book, the plot was not extremely complex, but the book was really interesting. I like the amount of irony and hilarity that the author employed. I definitely recommend it, and happy reading!
