Just like the one before it, this second installment in the Harry Potter Series is a great book. One of the elements I loved was the amount of suspense created by not revealing who is Slytherin's Heir and opening the Chamber of Secrets. Something else that creates suspense is the fact that at the beginning of the book, Dobby the House-Elf warns Harry vaguely of terrors at Hogwarts and tries to not let Harry go back "for his own good" The addition of the magic diary that possesed Ginny Weasley and contains part of Voldemort's soul also adds to the suspense, mystery, and magic of the book. I think that the spotlight put on Harry is irrelevant, though. This is simply because everyone thought that Harry was Salazar Slytherin's Heir because he could talk to snakes, but if he was Slytherin's Heir, he would be in Slytherin House, not Gryffindor. All in all, this is a great book, and I highly recommend it to people who like mystery and magic. Happy reading!
